Dr. Pedro Marfil is an archaeologist and teacher at the University of Cordoba. He studied Geography and History at the University of Granada and his doctoral thesis was about the doors of the Mosque of Cordoba in the Emirate period.
He is currently associate professor in the Department of History of Art, Archaeology and Music of the UCO, where he also serves as secretary of the department.
Biography
Dr. Pedro Marfil is an archaeologist and teacher at the University of Cordoba. He studied Geography and History at the University of Granada and his doctoral thesis was about the doors of the Mosque of Cordoba in the Emirate period.
He is currently associate professor in the Department of History of Art, Archaeology and Music of the UCO, where he also serves as secretary of the department.
He has worked on numerous excavations, including his important work as director in the Mosque of Cordoba, the Old Station of La Cercadilla, the Chapel of San Bartolomé and the Caliphal Baths of Cordoba.
He has participated in a large number of national and international congresses and conferences and has published over a hundred publications in journals and books. He has spent national and international stays at the universities of Seville, Padova and at the Cervantes Institute in Fez.
He has participated in fifteen R+D+I research projects, including
membership of the following research groups: HUM-262. Research in heritage resources (INREPA) and HUM-940 ORIENS: Transfer of knowledge in the Near East and the Mediterranean Basin.
